OVERVIEW

TERYX® H2 side x sides equipped with KECS+ have 3 Suspension Modes (Firm, Sport, Comfort) which can be selected on-the-fly using switches on the steering wheel. Each mode’s character is quickly discernible and can be selected to suit driver and/or passenger preference.

When it comes to sport riding, a predictable handling character is a key element of control. When the wheels turn, the long-travel suspension and large-diameter tires work together to redirect the vehicle in the desired direction, helping you trace your intended line through the corner. Quick-steering handling and speed-sensitive electric power steering (EPS) help keep steering effort light. Kawasaki’s high-grade EPS system also acts as a damping system, enhancing ride comfort and control.

Double wishbone front suspension with long upper and lower A-arms use a fortified, high-strength molded construction to achieve the rigidity needed for the wide stance, benefiting high-speed control and enabling strong, firm braking. Rear beefy 4-link trailing arm suspension also features a fortified high-strength molded construction to handle the TERYX® H2 side x side’s higher-speed range.

The TERYX® H2 is Kawasaki’s first side x side model to feature Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC). Available in 2WD mode only, this advanced driver support technology provides high-level control of the accelerator pedal to manage rear-wheel traction, helping to stabilize vehicle attitude when accelerating from a standstill, or suppressing oversteer to trace their intended line around a corner.

Even during sport riding, the cab is remarkably calm thanks to the highly rigid frame and stable platform offered by the wide 74-in stance and 101-in wheelbase—complemented by massive, long-travel suspension that helps soak up obstacles. The shorter wheelbase compared to the TERYX4/5 H2 side x sides cuts weight and adds agility for better performance on technical trails. The chassis maintains impressive straight-line stability.

Designed using Kawasaki’s advanced dynamic rigidity analysis, the frame incorporates the Rollover Protection Structure (ROPS) as a stressed member. The structure achieves a balance of a low-profile silhouette and sufficient headroom. The ROPS is made from high-tensile steel with the B- and C-pillars positioned as far out as possible to allow more room in the cab.

The 33-in Maxxis® Carnivore Plus tires were designed for high-speed operation. These all-terrain tires offer an excellent balance of grip, slide control, and traction with an off-road pattern that offers excellent grip for running at high speed across the open desert.

The 16-in aluminum flow formed wheels offer both light weight and high strength. On the TERYX® H2 LIMITED eS, the wheels feature bead-lock rims designed to hold the tire beads in place in off-road riding situations, further enhancing the high-grade, sporty looks.

There are 270mm large-diameter petal brake discs on all 4 corners with 3-piston calipers in the front and twin-piston calipers in the rear delivering superb braking force and offering confident speed management when entering a corner or coming to a stop. Tailored engine braking characteristics offer reassuring support on challenging descents, especially in Low gear.

As the driver pushes the brake pedal, the rear brakes engage first, followed by the front brakes. This offers a very natural, linear brake feel that facilitates precision brake force control. Pulling the parking brake lever (conveniently located between the seats) activates the rear brakes.

In addition to the exhilarating howl of an in-line 4-cylinder engine, you and your passenger are treated to 2 excitement-enhancing sounds unique to a supercharged engine.

The first is the chirping sound, like that of the Ninja H2® hypersport motorcycle, produced when letting off the throttle suddenly from high-rpm, causing an abrupt drop in impeller speed, and it no longer matches the speed of the intake airflow.

The other is a low growling sound, unique to the TERYX® H2 and TERYX4/5 H2 side x sides, that is heard when back-pressure waves hit the impeller when driving at very slow speed and is a sign that the supercharged engine’s massive power is on stand-by and is ready for action.

The use of a high-capacity, rubber-belt continuously variable transmission (CVT) capable of withstanding high HP and high rpm was key in achieving smooth, linear power and acceleration. The CVT settings keep the engine speed in the optimum powerband, and without power drops associated with shifting, every push of the accelerator pedal delivers direct, lag-free response. Carefully considered CVT design, cooling system, and optimized belt design with enhanced shape, thickness, and durability help translate the massive power from the high-output, high-revving supercharged engine into forward momentum.

The CVT intake duct flows twice the volume of cool air inside the CVT case compared to the TERYX KRX® 1000 side x side, which also contributes to CVT belt life. The CVT temperature is also displayed on the instrument panel for easy monitoring.

A gate-style shift lever allows you to select from Forward High, Forward Low, Neutral, and Reverse. The 3-position transmission has gear ratios optimized for the TERYX® H2 side x side's top speed. With a greater load on the transmission from the high-output engine, louvres on the under guard and fins on the primary pulley help keep things cool.

On-the-fly electrically selectable 4WD and front differential lock enable you to quickly switch between drive systems to suit changing terrain and applications.

Power Mode selection offers the choice of Full, Mid, or Low power to suit preference and conditions.

• Full Power mode: Unrestricted engine output allowing you to experience the full potential of the supercharged engine.
• Mid Power mode: Engine output is approximately 80% of Full, and reduced output further enhances control and is convenient for cruising.
• Low Power mode: Engine output is approximately 60% of Full, and reduced output enhances control for low-speed operations like backing out of a trailer.

From the crankshaft, cams, pistons, connecting rods, and driveshaft to the frame and suspension, the components were all purpose-built and designed with robust strength to handle the high power of the supercharged engine. The very linear power delivery facilitates control while still being quick on its feet thanks to the light overall weight. The TERYX® H2 LIMITED eS side x side boasts 250-HP¹ and an estimated dry weight of 2,165 lbs*, resulting in an impressive power-to-weight ratio of approximately 8.6 lb/HP.

Dual snorkel air intakes, one for the supercharged engine and one for the continuously variable transmission (CVT), are located behind the rear passenger doors. Pre-filters at the intake entrances help ensure minimal dust ingestion. In the engine intake, a Donaldson air filter located downstream also offers superb dust collection performance.

As the impeller pumps air into the supercharger, the high-pressure air is then routed to an intercooler that helps minimize heat gain by cooling the intake air and allowing a greater volume of air to flow, contributing to overall performance. A combination of optimal placement of heat-generating components, an electric fan below the intercooler, tandem radiators, a liquid-cooled oil cooler, and more contributes to efficient cooling for the high-output engine.

Electronic Throttle Valves, blow-off valve, and diffuser all play a key role in optimal airflow. Intake and exhaust ports were also optimized for the high-power supercharged engine. Long-duration, high-lift camshafts facilitate the high-volume airflow. The high lift helps large volumes of air enter and exit the combustion chamber quickly, and with the wide overlap, intake air is used to help expel the spent fuel-air mixture out the exhaust ports.

On the TERYX® H2, a pair of ergonomic, lever-adjustable high-backed bucket seats offer supreme comfort. The form-fitting bucket seats are slightly reclined and feature thick bolsters on the seat backs, both adding to their hold performance during sport riding.

Both seats feature 4-point seatbelts. The seatbelts offer extremely smooth action for easy adjustability and stress-free operation. They also cleverly retract into holes in the seat backs for a tidy appearance. A wide, adjustable T-handle grip enhances front passenger comfort.

Mounted on the steering column behind the steering wheel, the large 7-in high-grade full-color TFT screen features a choice of display modes for information at a glance and also includes a camera mode compatible with accessory front and rear cameras. In camera mode, the instrumentation automatically switches to the rear camera view when the vehicle is put in Reverse gear.

Built-in smartphone technology enables wireless connection, and with RIDEOLOGY THE APP POWERSPORTS^†, riders get vehicle information directly from the instrument panel. Along with vehicle management and maintenance features, the Kawasaki-exclusive app also has trip recording and group ride so you can share your memorable journeys.

The TERYX® H2 LIMITED eS comes equipped with a 10-in Garmin Tread® off-road navigation system complete with group ride radio and audio system capability. Vehicle running information like speed and power mode is visible from the passenger seats, allowing passengers to share in the excitement when sport riding. Display modes include Map, Vehicle, Media, and Phone on the large touch-screen. Audio playback is supported by 2 speakers built into the doors, and the speakers are dustproof and waterproof. Accessory rear speakers with built-in tweeters can be fitted into pre-wired locations behind the seats. For enhanced sound, a 10-in accessory subwoofer can be installed under the front-right passenger seat.

In addition to the 300-lb capacity rear carrier, the interior offers a number of convenient storage spaces and pockets. A lidded compartment built into the dashboard above the center console includes 2 USB-C charging ports. The passenger-side glovebox with built-in DC socket provides a power supply (up to 120 W) for accessory items or personal devices. 4 cup-holders are available.

Kawasaki engineers were conscious of the TERYX® H2 side x side's overall dimensions to facilitate transportation in a closed trailer or toy hauler. The height of the TERYX H2 LIMITED eS model is approximately 74-in with the antenna removed.

The exhaust system features a 4-2-1-pre-chamber-silencer layout with the pipe length optimized to complement the high-output engine. At the rear, the distinctive dual-exit exhaust is a visual cue that this is no ordinary side x side.

The Kawasaki River Mark emblem is proudly displayed on the front hood, steering wheel, and ignition key—an indication that TERYX® H2 side x sides are the flagship of the TERYX® family, a symbol prominently featured on Kawasaki’s most prestigious and high-performance machines.

The bright red net-style intercooler cover in the rear emphasizes the sporty, high-performance image. The cover also reads “Supercharged,” a reminder that this innovative machine is powered by a supercharged engine.
